Barrow Benefice Celebrating

We believe that we bring the Good News of God’s Kingdom through our outreach.

The Barrow Benefice has a history of outreach. For years The Living Nativity supported deserving charities. This year the Benefice supported the Bishops’ Kagera Lent Appeal and send more than £600 to the appeal. As of 14 June 2017 the Diocese raised £45,000.00 for the Diocese of Kagera.

Each May the Benefice donates to Christian Aid through a coffee morning and a special collection at the annual Rogation service. We learned this year when the regional representative of Christian Aid spoke at the service that the Benefice has given more that £11,000 over the last ten years. Other charities we have supported include Water Aid, Tearfund, the Children’s Society, EACH and St Nicholas Hospice Care. Three of the churches in the benefice collect canned goods for Tayfen House.

We run ‘Pub Church’ on the second Friday of the month at The Three Horseshoes so do come and join us!

We have a ‘Big Breakfast’ at Barrow Village Hall on the first Saturday of the month from 0900 – 1030

Numerous initiatives run throughout the year which also links in with the local schools.

We have a support network in place during these times of austerity, Community Pantry, A Hardship Fund, Warm Rooms and a Microwave & Slow Cooker Project
