With a little creativity you can give your plastic bottles a new purpose—support our Reduce & Reuse Plastic Campaign and have some fun with your children.
You will need:
- Plastic drink bottles
- String or Wire
- Bird seed
- Scissors
Cut a hole in the side large enough to allow access of seeds, but not so the seeds fall out in wind or get wet in the rain. Make a few small holes in the bottom of your feeder to allow any rainwater to drain away. Hang it with string from a tree or washing line. Keep well stocked.
You could thread though a couple of wooden spoons or add a pencil below the hole for birds to balance. Or screw a large plastic lid to the bottom of the bottle to collect seeds.
If it gets mucky – wash, dry and recycle & make another one!
Our actions make a difference!
