An innovative project will be using Artificial Intelligence for the first time to track hedgehog populations. The aim is to understand how many of them are left in the UK and why their numbers are declining. The three-year project is in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, ZSL’s London Hog Watch, Durham University and Mammal Web.
Images of hedgehogs captured on camera and identified by AI will be sent to project workers to analyse numbers and locations.
Our actions make a difference!
