This week in our meadowscaping series, we will turn to how to turn your grass mono-culture into a meadow. A meadow offers many rewards, but bear in mind it is hard work initially. Turning grass into a meadow isn’t a case of simply adding wildflowers to a lawn. It involves preparing the ground, and regular maintenance. Early spring is the time to start.
- Remove turfgrass.
- Apply seeds – native or climate-adapted seeds or plants.
- Water regularly.
We’ll examine those rewards next week.
Our actions make a difference!
